Bobby Darin: Living Beyond the Sea
Bobby Darin fought his ill health all his life. Knowing he wasn’t likely to live very long (and he didn’t, he died at 37) he fought to make every day count. He drove himself hard, sometimes having to take oxygen immediately after a performance.
In his short career, he released 29 LPs and starred in 12 movies. Not too shabby, and something few people in perfect health with a lot more time could beat.
Darin died before I was even born, but I love listening to his music. I feel like I’ve always known his songs.
